Students from Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois will square off in a first-time event, the Northeast Wisconsin VEX Robotics Challenge, Saturday at Oconto Falls High School.

Forty teams will compete from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. using robots created from the VEX Robotics Design System. Participants will compete in the game Toss Up, developed by VEX Robotics Inc. and the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation, leaders in educational and competitive robotics.

The competition for middle and high school students is hosted by Team Green 4-H Club from Oconto County, now in its fifth season. Team Green will compete with two teams.

The Northeast Wisconsin VEX Robotics Challenge is one in a series of tournaments supported by the REC Foundation and various national, regional and local sponsors. Local sponsors are Nicolet Plastics of Lakewood and Oconto Electric Cooperative of Oconto Falls.

Admission to the contest is free and open to the public.
