Brittany Russell, daughter of Bruce and Betsy Russell, has been awarded the $125 Lester and Rosemary Memorial Scholarship at Oconto Falls High School.

Russell has been active in business classes and Future Business Leaders of America and contributes to the community. She graduated as valedictorian of the Class of 2016, earning summa cum laude honors. She has served as the high school FBLA president and 2015-2016 Wisconsin FBLA vice president, and has been an FBLA national qualifier multiple times. She has been active in student council, band, French club, and other school and community organizations.

She will attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering.

The Lester and Rosemary Korbel Memorial Scholarship was established to recognize the dedication and commitment to excellence required in the field of business education. As former teachers of the Oconto Falls High School business department for over 30 years, Lester and Rosemary dedicated their lives to their students, setting high goals for all involved.
