Gillett/Suring 2

Junior pitcher Cody Smith struck out nine batters in five innings and gave up three earned runs for Gillett/Suring in Monday’s road loss.

Senior Lane Hischke had both of the hits for the Hornets (0-9, 0-5 Marinette & Oconto Conference). He scored one run.

Ethan Hischke entered the game in the sixth and threw a scoreless frame for Gillett/Suring.

Josh Reed and Eli Framnes were the only Gillett/Suring players to record hits in a five-inning road loss April 18.

Junior Cody Smith allowed nine hits and seven earned runs in 3 1/3 innings for the Hornets (0-8, 0-4 Marinette & Oconto Conference).

Jeremy Missall pitched the final 2/3 of an inning without giving up a hit.

Junior Willow Pecha pitched a complete game, striking out seven batters, as Gillett/Suring fell on the road Monday.

Sydney Young led the Hornets (3-6, 1-4 Marinette & Oconto Conference) at the plate with two hits.

Freshman Angel Griffin tallied two hits to lead Gillett/Suring at the plate in an April 18 road loss.

Myranda Pratsch, Sydney Young and Faith Sorlie all scored runs for the Hornets (3-5, 1-3 Marinette & Oconto Conference).

Young threw 4 1/3 innings, allowing five hits and six earned runs. She walked nine.

Panthers boys, girls 2nd in tri

Oconto Falls senior Aaron Kurth took first in the 100-meter dash (11.86 seconds), 200 (23.66) and 400 (52.77) as the Panthers finished second April 18 at a North Eastern Conference triangular at Fox Valley Lutheran.

Evan Konitzer and Noah Kokko-Ludemann went 1-2 in the mile and 2-mile, while Brent Wolf added firsts in the high jump (5 feet, 6 inches) and 300 hurdles (44.73).

Senior Diane Moore posted the girls’ only three individual wins.

The Panthers boys tallied 63.5 points, while the girls tallied 58. Fox Valley Lutheran took first in both meets.

BOYS GOLF

Panthers tie for 6th at NEC meet

Oconto Falls’ Vince Norling was one of three golfers to shoot the low round of 37 April 18 at a North Eastern Conference mega-meet at Little River Country Club in Marinette.

The Panthers finished with a 171, tied with Fox Valley Lutheran for sixth.

Ryan Morris added a 38, Austin Wolf posted a 47 and Clayton Rathsack recorded a 49 for Oconto Falls.

Waupaca and Luxemburg-Casco each shot rounds of 161 as the low score of the day. Marinette’s Dakota Langlois and Freedom’s Garrison Murphy also shots 37s.

Anderley leads Wildcats in Niagara

Lena’s Jacob Anderley shot a team-best 103 Friday at the Niagara Invitational at Oak Crest Golf Course.

Colby Borchert added a round of 114, and Connor Heise tallied a 136 for Lena.

Carney, Michigan, won the 19-team invitational with a 360. Hunter Eichorn shoot the team’s low round with a 74.
