July 27

Deputies responded to 52 incidents, including the following:

Attempted Fraud — An Allen Road resident contacted authorities after someone responded to his Craigslist ad by sending a $980 check for a $55 chair, instructing him to deposit the check, take out his money for the chair, and they would be sending people to pick up the rest of the money.

Burglary — A man who spent six days in jail came home to Tom Post Road, Pound, and found alcohol, food and jewelry missing.

July 26

Deputies responded to 64 incidents, including the following:

Theft — Authorities investigated the theft of tools from a new construction site on Executive Circle in Little Suamico.

Burglary — Authorities investigated the break-in to an outbuilding along Mosers Lane, Oconto, A door was kicked in and items taken, including a new chainsaw.

Theft — Officers investigated the theft of several guns from a residence on East Frontage Road, Little Suamico.

July 25

Deputies responded to 37 incidents, including the following:

Trespassing — The owner of a property on Dans Lane, Suring, reported that he has remote access to cameras on the land and has video footage of an unknown male trespassing.

Criminal Mischief — Authorities investigated a report that someone was taking envelopes from the unlocked lobby at the Townsend post office, filling them with feces and putting them in the mailbox.

Criminal Damage — A property on County Road VV that is used as a summer camp reported damage to picnic tables and other property.

July 24

Deputies responded to 43 incidents, including the following:

Fraud — Authorities received a report of fraudulent charges totaling $10,006 on an Oconto resident’s credit card. A report was already filed with the financial institution.

Fire — Crews responded to a brush fire about 50 feet from a building along Young Road, Oconto, which was under control within about 10 minutes. A person was cutting a gas tank out of a junk car and it caught fire.

July 23

Deputies responded to 39 incidents, including the following:

Burglary — Authorities investigated a break-in along Windross Lane, Little Suamico.

Agency Assist — Deputies helped Brown County investigate a disturbance at the Dollar Tree on Lineville Road, Howard, in which someone was stabbed.

Criminal Damage — Authorities investigated an incident in which a man parked his car in a public turnaround area along County Road Y just south of the Marinette County line, then rode his mountain bike to Oconto and back; when he returned his vehicle had been severely damaged and he believed his wallet was also stolen from the car.

Property Damage — A mailbox was shot along Nichols Road, Oconto.

July 22

Deputies responded to 67 incidents, including the following:

Property damage — Windows were smashed out of a residence along County Road J, Abrams.

Burglary — Authorities investigated the theft of a firearm from a residence along County Road T, White Lake.

Burglary — Forced entry was made to Camp Norwid, Martin Lane, Crivitz, and chainsaws were taken, sometime in the last week.

Severe Thunderstorms — From 7:52 p.m. to near midnight, deputies responded to seven reports of fallen trees blocking roads from Mountain to Pulaski, including one that fell on a power line and started a fire along North Pine Road, Sobieski, and a homeowner who reported trees uprooted and a shed destroyed on Wesolowski Lane, Pulaski.

July 21

Deputies responded to 66 incidents, including the following:

Wanted Person — A deputy met with a Brown County squad car at the county line in Little Suamico to pick up a suspect to take to the Oconto County Jail.

Identity Theft — Authorities investigated several fraudulent charges on an Abrams woman’s Kohl’s charge card.

Theft — Authorities investigated a break-in at the Townsend Ball Diamond shed. Two 5-gallon containers of gasoline were missing.

Property Damage — A bullet hole was found on the outside of a house along state Highway 32, Suring.

Burglary — Authorities investigated a forced entry into a cottage on state Highway 32, Suring, sometime between July 15 and July 21.
