Lena E. Severson, 89, of Gillett, passed away at home with her family by her side on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017.

Lena was born on March 13, 1928, to the late Emil and Emilie (Schindel) Schenkoski. On June 22, 1946, Lena married Floyd Severson. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers, reading, watching old TV shows and movies.

Lena was a member of St. John’s Riverside Lutheran Church.

For many years, Lena worked as a library aide at the Gillett Public Library well into her 80s.

Lena is survived by her daughters, Connie Severson (friend Perry Dart), Joyce (Tim) Woodward and Harriet Wolfgram; granddaughter, Tracie Wolfgram; brother, Wally (Dolly) Schenkoski; sister-in-law, Florence Schenkoski. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her parents; an infant son, Robert; five brothers, Eddie, Willy, Rudy, Bennie and Gust; a sister, Tilly Yanke; and a son-in-law, Gerry Wolfgram.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at St. John’s Riverside Lutheran Church, 5686 State Highway 32, Gillett, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor James Athey officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. John’s Riverside Lutheran Cemetery.

Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family would like to thank her brother and sister-in-law, Wally and Dolly, and her nephew and his wife, Alan and Jane Schenkoski, for the special attention they gave to our mom.
