Elizabeth K. “Betty” Olson, 83, longtime Lena resident, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017. She was born on Sept. 17, 1934, in Lena to Oscar and Mary (Kort) Schlosser.

Betty graduated from Lena High School. On Sept. 17, 1955, Betty was united in marriage to Donald K. Olson at St. Charles Catholic Church in Lena. The couple recently celebrated 62 years together. The couple spent their earlier married years in Appleton before returning to Lena in 1967. Betty was a longtime member of St. Anne’s Parish in Lena.

Betty is survived by her husband, Donald; her children and their spouses, Terri (David) Witt, Oconto Falls, Kenneth (Lori) Olson, Sherwood, Ohio, Katie (Bob) Gorde, Dousman, Rick (Dawn) Olson, Sheboygan, Gerry (Wendy) Olson, Sussex, Ann (Glen) Orsburn, Appleton, and Mary (Larry) Kropp, Green Bay; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Shallow; sister-in-law, Dorothy Schlosser; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Garey and Debbie Olson; many other relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George Schlosser; and a brother-in-law, Oliver Shallow Jr.

Friends called at St Anne Catholic Church, 209 E. Main St., Lena, on Saturday, Oct 7, 2017, from 9-11 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Nonito Barra officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Charles Cemetery in Lena.
