Rebecca J. Kurzynske

The Pulaski School Board on Dec. 20 unanimously approved a renewal of contract for Superintendent Rebecca J. Kurzynske. She was named superintendent by the board in February 2016 after serving as interim superintendent since May 2015.

“The board is pleased to renew Mrs. Kurzynske’s contract,” said board President Michael Voelker. “She understands the values of our diverse district and is very visible in the community. She has a deep concern for the well-being of our students and staff and is a strong advocate for our children and schools.”

“I look forward to continuing to work with the board, our staff, students, and the community for years to come, and I thank the board for trusting me to serve the best interests of our district,” Kurzynske said.

Voelker said the school district has undertaken numerous projects to improve facilities while being responsible to taxpayers by operating within budget.

“Our staff retention is the highest it has been in years, and our district scored ‘exceeds expectations’ on state report cards,” he said. “These accomplishments are the result of a true team effort by our staff and members of the community, and would not have been possible without Mrs. Kurzynske’s effective leadership.”

Kurzynske’s new contract takes effect July 1, 2018, and extends to June 30, 2020.
