Pulaski boat builder touts strong year

The Marquis-Larson Boat Group reported that 2017 was a big year for the company, as it transitioned the manufacture of Larson and its four boat brands to Pulaski after 104 years in Little Falls, Minnesota.

At the same time, the company added three new models and made numerous changes to others. The group added a dozen domestic and international dealers and increased its staff by more than 100 employees.

“As we start 2018, our progress and momentum are strong,” said Rob Parmentier, president and CEO of Marquis-Larson Boat Group. “Our order backlog is full, with production starts out until August for all brands, signaling a resurgence in demand for our boats, especially in Canada. As a result, we still need an approximately 20 percent increase in our workforce to support all areas of the organization and to meet current demand and forecasted sales.”

“I have not felt this type of energy, buzz and activity from both the community and the more than 400 employees in a long time,” added Paul Liss, vice president of operations.

Marquis-Larson Boat Group offers a family of six premier recreational boat brands ranging from 16 to 72 feet, including Marquis Yachts, Carver Yachts, Larson, Larson FX freshwater fishing boats, Larson Escape pontoon boats and Striper saltwater fishing boats.
