Marvin R. Rusch, 78, of Stiles, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 29, 2018, after a courageous battle with a variety of ailments.
He was born on May 10, 1940, in Milwaukee to Walter and Olga (Patzer) Rusch. Marvin attended Immanuel Lutheran School and was confirmed in 1954. He attended Milwaukee Lutheran High and Custer High, graduating in 1958.
Marvin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before starting his steamfitter’s apprenticeship in 1961. He later became a Journeyman and excelled at specialized welding.
He married Carol Ann (Blake) on Jan. 19, 1963, in Milwaukee. They moved to Stiles in 1969, where together they raised three children, Steven (Suzanne) Rusch, Marcy (Scott) Wolfe and Michael (Rhonda) Rusch. Marvin enjoyed a second marriage on April 23, 1988, to Carol (Heiden) (Burdey). He is survived by her children, Thomas (Trish) Burdey, Monte (Joye) Marek, Steven (Kristin) Burdey and Tammy (Stephen) Loveless. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and his first and second wives.
Marvin retired in 1995. He continued to be an active member in his church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, going to the races, auction$, as well as visiting with his children and grandchildren.
A casual visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, starting at 9 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 1700 Superior Ave., Oconto. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Curtis DeCoste officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Spruce.
The family wishes to thank all of the medical support staff that have assisted in Marvin’s care over the years.
