Q: When did your interest in cross-country begin?

A: It was about two days before the first practice my freshman year.

Q: What’s your favorite part about a cross-country meet or the cross-country season?

A: My favorite part of a cross-country meet is when you know you feel good and you run strong. My favorite part of the season is at sectionals because that’s the time to shine.

Q: You have enjoyed a really strong start to the year. What’s been the key to your success?

A: When I’m running and I feel like slowing down to conserve energy, you just gotta push through it and keep going.

Q: What things do you and the team need to continue working on to turn in more top finishes and have the best season you can?

A: The team needs to have a tighter group between the three and five runners so we can pack run. When we pack run, we do great.

Q: What’s your favorite memory of competing on the Oconto Falls cross-country team?

A: My favorite memory was my sophomore year when we went to state as a team and being an underdog the whole season. My sophomore year running at sectionals was both the most nervous and excited I’ve been while running.

Q: Do you have any rituals you go through before a cross-country meet?

A: Yes. I don’t really have any in a specific order or anything like that, and I don’t usually do the same thing for every meet.

Q: Do you look up to any particular athletes? If so, why them?

A: Not really any athletes in particular, but the teams that run good and pack run are the ones to focus on.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you are not in school or competing in a high school sport?

A: Hanging with the boys.

Q: Favorite TV show, movie, musical artist?

A: My favorite TV show always changes. My favorite movie currently is “Black Panther,” and my favorite musical artist would have to be Kid Rock or Motley Crew.

Q: Name one thing about yourself that not many people know.

A: There’s not many people that don’t know who I really am or know about myself.

Q: Do you have a favorite quote, verse, or lyrics from a song?

A: Saturdays are for the boys.
