The Oconto County Historical Society’s monthly program for December may give people the opportunity to learn something about that one antique or collectible item that they have in their possession, that they can’t identify, don’t how it was used, or where it came from.

The program is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the meeting room of the Carriage Museum, 917 Park Ave., Oconto. People are encouraged to bring one item to be identified. Weapons and firearms are not permitted.

Bill Eiler of De Pere, a long-time antique collector and owner of Frugal Classics which specializes in estate sales, will identify items brought to the program and share his knowledge of antiques and collectibles.

In June 2017, Eiler was a volunteer at the popular “Antiques Roadshow” television show when it made a stop at the Resch Center in Green Bay. He will share his experience as a volunteer, how he was chosen, what training he received prior to the show opening, and what the daylong experience was like.

Refreshments will be served following the program. The program is free and open to the public.
