WRESTLING

Oconto Falls 43, Marinette 22

The Panthers claimed all but five matches in a dual win over the Marines on Thursday (Dec. 20).

Jager Eisch (113), Trevor Schindel (138), Clayton Whiting (152) and Aidan Stary (182) all won by pin for Oconto Falls. Trevor Pankratz (160) won by major decision.

Jacob Kaminski (195) and Bodee Woods (145) each earned tight decision wins. Collin Schindel (138) won a decision by sudden victory and Jaden Ganter (106) won by forfeit.

Lena/STAA splits duals at triangular

The Lena/STAA co-op lost to Three Lakes (30-24) but bounced back with a win over Elcho (30-27) at a triangular on Dec. 18.

James DesJarlais (138) won by pin to lead the co-op against Three Lakes. Kiko Cajigas (170), Ramiro Cortez (182) and Richard Fieck (285) all won by forfeit.

Alex DeCoursin (145) won by pin for Lena/STAA against Elcho. Cody Dellise (152), Cajigas (170), Cortez (182) and DesJarlais (138) won by forfeit.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Oconto Falls 44, Marinette 36

The Panthers improved to 4-3 in North Eastern Conference play with a victory over the Marines on Thursday (Dec. 20).

A year ago, Oconto Falls managed just five conference wins a season ago.

Crivitz 71, Gillett 56

The Tigers were outscored by the Wolverines 35-24 in the second half of a Marinette & Oconto Conference loss on Thursday (Dec. 20).

Karissa Schaal scored 18 points to lead Gillett on the offensive end. Aubrey DeBuach stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, 10 points, seven assists and five blocks.

Macy Franti chipped in nine points.

Wausaukee 51, Lena 23

The Wildcats were shut down by the Rangers in a M&O clash on Thursday (Dec. 20).

Meckenna Portier totaled 10 points and 10 rebounds for Lena in the loss. Maddy Herald contributed nine points and stole five passes. Alayna Peterson had seven steals.

Freedom 59, Oconto Falls 47

The Panthers were outscored by 19 points in an eventual North Eastern Conference loss to the Irish on Dec. 18.

Kari Albrecht led Oconto Falls with 13 points while Morgan Helmle added 10. Sammy Shallow contributed nine points while Alexis Euclide had seven.

Suring 62, Gresham 33

The Eagles snapped their two-game losing streak by easing past the Wildcats in a nonconference clash on Dec. 18.

Ryann Wagner tallied 12 points for Suring while Kylee Stelzer added 11. Kate Mahoney provided nine points while Wylee Van Bellinger scored eight.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Three Lakes 54, Gillett 49

The Tigers came up just short in a hard-fought battle against the Bluejays in nonconference action on Thursday (Dec. 20).

Cole Long scored 24 points to lead Gillett. Bo Krueger added eight points while Anthony Carroll, Logan Block and Elijah Framnes each contributed five points.

Long also pulled down 12 rebounds while Logan Block had five.

Suring 51, Stockbridge 34

The Eagles pulled away from Stockbridge in nonconference play on Thursday (Dec. 20).

Caleb Lally paced Suring with 15 points. Mitch Stegeman added 14 points while Dequez Sepulveda and Josh Reed provided nine and seven points, respectively.

Marinette 66, Oconto Falls 47

The Panthers fell short in a NEC clash against the Marines on Dec. 18.

Dakota Carriveau scored 14 points for Oconto Falls while Mitch Manns added 12. Joe Schoen and Jared Parsons each tallied seven points.

Carriveau also grabbed six rebounds while Dylan Nelson had four steals. Parson stole three passes.

Coleman 68, Gillett 40

The Tigers could not keep pace with the Cougars in a M&O matchup on Dec. 18.

Jack Baer totaled 12 points to lead Gillett. Logan Block had 10 while Cole Long added eight.

Gillett trailed by 19 points at halftime.

Suring 63, Wausaukee 34

The Eagles raced past the Rangers in M&O action on Dec. 18.

Mitch Stegeman scored 20 points for Suring in the victory. Caleb Lally added 13 points. Dequez Sepulveda and Jayden Geniesse chipped in eight and seven points, respectively.

Suring made seven 3-pointers and outscored Wausaukee 16-8 at the free throw line.

Lena 57, Goodman/Pembine 46

The Wildcats secured a nonconference win over the Goodman/Pembine co-op on Dec. 18.

Colby Borchert totaled 20 points, six rebounds and six steals to lead the charge for Lena. Trenton Telford added 10 points, five rebounds and four steals.

The Wildcats recorded 22 steals and four rebounds in the contest.
