Q: When did your interest in track and field begin?

A: My older sister (Bailey) has been competing in races as long as I can remember. I did all the same sports as she did.

Q: What’s your favorite part about a track and field meet or the track and field season?

A: The best part of a track meet is the 4x400 relay, which is basically the Super Bowl of the meet. The best part of the season is the sectional meet to see who makes it to state.

Q: What’s your favorite memory of competing on the Oconto Falls track and field team?

A: Last year at sectionals, I ran a PR (personal record) in the 300 hurdles and was one place away from making it to state.

Q: What serves as your motivation while competing?

A: Being so close to state last year has been fueling me this entire offseason.

Q: Talk a bit about the work you did in the offseason to get ready for the season?

A: I didn’t go out for basketball this year so I could train offseason. I went to Synergy Sports Performance in Green Bay once or twice per week and was a part of their track academy. I worked out before school as well.

Q: What kind of things are you going to be focusing on early in the season?

A: I’m looking forward to getting outside and getting my 400 split down so my 300 hurdles are faster. I am also super focused on not getting injured and being healthy.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you are not in school or competing in a high school sport?

A: I like to spend time with animals at my relative’s dairy farm.

Q: How can you build off the strong meet you had on March 26?

A: The indoor meet can’t be compared to outdoor track at all. There wasn’t too much competition there. I’m just looking to improve on my conditioning and hurdle technique.

Q: Favorite TV show, movie and musical artist?

A: I really like any fire dept., police, or hospital shows. Any superhero movie I like. My favorite artists right now are Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen.

Q: Name one thing about yourself that not many people know.

A: No matter what I’m doing, I always want to listen to music.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

A: If you try to take the easy way out, you're only cheating yourself.
