Constance Lynn (Elbe) Lopez of Sparks, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson, Maryland, at the age of 71. She was born on March 23, 1947, in Shawano to Kenneth and OraBelle Elbe, of Gillett.

Constance was the devoted mother to Tim (Kelly) Lopez, York, Pennsylvania, and David (Tricia) Lopez, Pittsburgh; dear sister of Randy (Kathy) Elbe, Sacramento, California, Deborah Erickson, Gillett, Kenneth Elbe, Green Bay, and the late John Elbe; loving grandmother of Evan and Nicholas Lopez. She is also survived by her nephew, Jake Elbe (fiancée Laci Dorn), their son, Jordan, Neenah; her niece, Elizabeth (Chad) Montour, Shawano, their children McKenna, Damon and Alex; her niece, Elise Elbe, Sacramento, California; her aunt, Lois Elbe, Green Bay.

Connie graduated from Gillett High School in 1965 where she was an active member in many school extracurricular activities, including band where she excelled in playing the flute and was the marching band majorette. Her lifelong ambition to attain a college degree was realized when she graduated from Notre Dame of Maryland University in May 2004 receiving a Bachelor of Arts in business with a specialization in human resources management. While earning her degree, she also managed a full-time career as a human resources specialist with Crum & Forester and the Selective Insurance Co. She loved to travel and experience new things. She also enjoyed books, the theatre, museums, art galleries and volunteer work for blood drives and House of Ruth (Ruth’s Closet) where her unique talents were greatly appreciated. Her religious faith, family and friends were most precious to her in life.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, PA, Timonium, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, Connie requested memorial contributions be made to House of Ruth www.hruth.org. Burial will be held at Wanderers Rest Cemetery, Gillett, in July 2019.
