The Oconto Falls High School softball team somehow managed to sneak four games into a week of action despite lingering snow on some fields and rain postponing other contests around the state. The Panthers went 2-2 in those games, but finished the week with a lopsided 20-5 win over Coleman on Saturday, April 6.

In the four-inning win over the Cougars Saturday, Oconto Falls totaled 18 hits and drew seven walks.

Emma Huberty hit a home run and finished with three runs batted in for the Panthers. Aly Fabry posted three hits, four RBIs and scored three times.

Katelyn Albrecht and Morgan Helmle each had four hits for Oconto Falls, while Taylor Ash joined Fabry with three knocks. Albrecht also drove in three runs and scored three runs. Ash and Haley Bell each drove in two runs while scoring twice.

Joslyn Tolzman worked the first three innings, allowing just one earned run to pick up the win in the circle. Bell worked the last inning to finish off the win. The duo combined to strikeout eight batters.

On Friday, April 5, the Panthers could only manage five hits in a 5-1 North Eastern Conference loss to Waupaca.

Abigail Remic tripled for Oconto Falls. Kaelyn Allen singled and scored the team’s lone run on a Bell RBI single in the seventh inning.

Bell took the loss after surrendering three earned runs over two innings. Tolzman did not allow a run over the final four innings and finished with five strikeouts.

Oconto Falls picked up a NEC win over Denmark on Thursday, holding on late for a 9-6 victory.

Tolzman and Fabry each drove in two runs for the Panthers, while Albrecht led the team with two hits. Bell, Albrecht and Remic each scored twice.

Tolzman worked all seven innings to earn the win. She did not allow an earned run, striking out two batters along the way.

Oconto Falls started the busy week with a 10-2 nonconference loss to West De Pere on April 2. West De Pere used a five-run fifth inning to pull away.

The Panthers registered four hits in the game. Fabry, Helmle and Huberty all doubled, and Ash drove in a run.

Tolzman suffered the loss after allowing seven earned runs over four innings. Bell allowed two runs over the final two innings.

The Panthers extended their season record to 4-2 when they defeated Oconto 9-4 on Tuesday, April 9.
